233D Transmitter Restoration Project

We have three phase power in the room! And the skids are gone.

No more excuses, now!

The supplied drop cord is wired to the power contactor except for protective ground. First step is to make sure everything on the contactor works and then I’ll hook up the plate transformer to start checking it. I expect to do the plate transformer on Wednesday, but I won’t do it unless someone else is present. We should establish a rule that the 3 pole breaker will not be turned on unless a safety person (who knows where the breaker is) is present.

Goal is to apply primary power to all transformers by June 1. We have checked all of the transformers except the plate but not in the cabinet. Doesn’t seem like a big deal, but we have 26 transformers with 33 fuses in the cabinets and chassis.

This also means we can apply power to the Autotune motor.

Mike Hynek: thanks for the fast work on the power.
